Knitting and Craft Show to support missions

This year’s annual knitwear and craft show will run from October 17 to 20, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Maison Jésus-Marie, in the entrance hall. In addition to tuques, scarves, mittens and other knitted items, the show often features a few original items to help with holiday preparations.

This is the 20th edition of this exhibition, and unfortunately, the last. Not for lack of interest and commitment to the missions. “Our group of skilled knitters, both nuns and lay friends, has dwindled enormously,” says Sr. Suzanne Lavallée, who initiated the activity.

Organized since 2005, this exhibition coincides with World Mission Week. Proceeds from the sale of items are donated to community organizations. The remainder is distributed to the Fondation du Dr Julien, to street people, to Saint-Vincent-de-Paul and L’Entraide chez nous.
