Sharing the SNJM Mission and Spirituality
Nowadays, affiliated lay people, both men and women, are inspired by our spirituality and charism of “active love or charity” to better live their Christian commitment in their respective milieus. With us, they find a place for reflection, sharing, celebration, and support for sustaining a living and active faith.
Two forms of affiliation were officially recognized by the Congregation in 2001: Associates and Consecrated Lay Persons.
- Associates are women, men or couples who form a bond with our Congregation by sharing in its charism, its spirituality and its mission. Inspired by Blessed Marie-Rose Durocher, they are interested in the life, priorities and commitments of the Congregation and participate in pastoral, charitable or social activities.
Groups of Associates gather in their respective regions to discuss, to organize activities related to their spiritual journey, and to identify and collaborate in actions in their area.
- Consecrated Lay Persons are Catholics who have heard the call of God to live their baptismal commitment by means of a private vow of chastity in celibacy. Inspired by Blessed Marie-Rose Durocher, they live their consecration in secular society, guided by the charism and spirituality of the SNJM Congregation.
