World March of Women

Every five years since 2000, the World March of Women (WMW) has brought together thousands of people across the globe around a common goal: to eradicate the root causes of poverty and violence against women.

Born from a Québec initiative inspired by the Bread and Roses March 1995, this international feminist movement remains, 30 years later, a powerful symbol of solidarity and social transformation.

2025: Still Marching to Transform the World

Under the mobilizing theme “Still Marching to Transform the World,” the sixth edition of the WMW will highlight essential demands to build a fairer and more equal society:

  • The right of girls and women to live in peace and safety
    • The right to make free and informed choices
    • A decent income ensuring economic autonomy
    • Free and universal access to quality public services
    • A healthy environment that respects biodiversity and communities
    • A society grounded in feminist values—where the economy serves life, not the other way around

The main gathering will take place on October 18, 2025, in Québec City, where participants from across the province will converge in the National Assembly for a large, collective march. Transportation will be organized from Montréal and other regions.

Global Solidarity

At the same time, solidarity actions will unfold around the world—in Europe, Africa, Latin America, and beyond—amplifying the voices of women and reaffirming their rights to dignity, justice, and freedom.

Several international delegations will also travel to Québec City to join this historic event, demonstrating once again that the struggle for equality knows no borders.
