World Day of Prayer for Vocations

This year marks the 62nd anniversary of the World Day of Prayer for Vocations, created in 1964 by Pope Paul VI. Established as a mobile day on the 4th Sunday of Easter, the World Day of Prayer for Vocations encourages reflection.

“When we talk about a vocation, we’re talking about that which touches human beings at the most intimate level of their freedom,” explains the French Catholic Church. This day is an invitation to prayer and an opportunity to get closer to young people who feel the desire to consecrate themselves to God.

Under the title “Pilgrims of hope: the gift of life,” the Holy Father’s message mentions, “the world needs young people who are pilgrims of hope, courageous in the consecration of their lives to Christ, full of joy by the very fact of being his missionary disciples.”
