The Second World War brought the mission of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary (SNJM) in Japan to an abrupt end. An abrupt end that did not alter the SNJM’s attachment to the people of this Asian country.
In fact, at the end of the conflict, some SNJM nuns returned to continue the work of educating young people. Even today, the SNJMs express a special affection and nurture a number of links with the residents of this country.
