Family Week

From May 12 to 18, 2025, Quebec Family Week takes place under the theme “30 years of weaving our Quebec Family together.” This anniversary edition is an opportunity to recall how far we’ve come, and above all to highlight the deep links, multiple collaborations and numerous connections forged between families and the players around them to build a close-knit community.
Coordinated by the Réseau pour un Québec Famille, this week is a powerful tool for raising awareness of the importance of the family in everyone’s life.
It’s the first place of education that helps little ones “build a caring society,” the first place of mutual aid to ensure a certain “social and economic stability” and the first place of solidarity to help “reduce poverty and exclusion, especially of vulnerable people.”
The aim of the week is to celebrate the major role of the family, “our nation’s greatest asset”. We therefore hope to give families a voice, and to entice the authorities to listen to their concerns and give them greater support.
National Week
At the same time, the Standing Committee of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) is proposing a pastoral kit for the National Family and Life Week 2025 (NFLW) from May 11 to 18. This year’s theme is inspired by Saint Paul’s letter to the Romans, “Abound in hope!”
The invitation is to reflect on God’s gift of hope in families. At the same time, it encourages us to celebrate our own families, to express our gratitude and to share meaningful moments with our loved ones. “Let us not just be glimmers of hope but beacons of hope! ”
The kit includes a wide range of tools to facilitate animation work in parishes and with families. It includes prayer intentions, suggested activities for families and children, pastoral suggestions for Mass, a launch video and promotional material for social media.
