World Mission Week

World Mission Week takes place this year from October 13 to 20. This last day coincides with the date set for “World Mission Sunday,” celebrated by all the world’s churches. The theme of the day, presented by Pope Francis, is “Go and invite everyone to the banquet” (Mt 22:9).

Several parishes are organizing a variety of activities during this week to highlight the work done by missionaries in various parts of the world to support vulnerable communities. These activities range from an evening of worship and prayer to a celebration and open animation activities with questions such as “What is God’s will? Where can I listen? How can we be witnesses to God in our lives?”

Mission Sunday is also an invitation to remember our baptismal call to “bring the Gospel to all” and to become a witness to Jesus in the world.

The Pope’s message can be read in several languages: English | French | Portuguese | Spanish.

As part of this mission-oriented campaign, Mission Faith has produced a Missionary Animation Guide 2024, available in English and French. It contains several resources for animation activities.
