Spring Equinox

The spring equinox arrives early this year, on March 19, 2024. A first since 1896!

Beyond the fact that it heralds spring, this is an important day for many First Nations and Métis communities. We open a “spiritual door” to the teachings of our ancestors.

It’s often the occasion for ceremonies to offer thanks, offerings and prayers, and to rekindle “the relationship with Mother Earth.” It’s also a time of transformation and new beginnings.
