SNJM participates in Religious Heritage Days

The Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary (SNJM) will participate in two ways in the new edition of Religious Heritage Days from September 9 to 11.

First of all, the Maison Jésus-Marie will host the Chœur Harmonie de Longueuil on Saturday, September 10, at 2:00 pm. Organized by the City of Longueuil as part of the History and Heritage Days, this one-hour concert is free. You must reserve your place through this online platform.

On Sunday, September 11, between 1:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., Marie-Rose Centre will offer two outdoor tours of the SNJM heritage site.  Visitors will be able to choose between the historical or the spiritual tour.

The latter is in the form of a silent pilgrimage. With the help of a written guide, visitors can immerse themselves in the site and walk at their own pace, stopping at various points of interest. The tour extends to the Marie-Rose Chapel located in the right transept of the Saint-Antoine-de-Padoue Co-Cathedral.

By opting for the historical tour, visitors are led to discover the particularities of the buildings that date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Anecdotes and unpublished facts enhance the presentation of the guides. It is also an invitation to travel back in time to immerse oneself in the life and evolution of the religious community, which has contributed to the education of thousands of young people in Quebec and throughout the world.

All are welcome to visit the SNJM heritage site, located at 80 Saint-Charles Street East, Longueuil, Quebec, J4H 1A9. Admission is free. The presentation of these two visits will be cancelled in case of rain.
