The most important moment of this day is undoubtedly the “two minutes of silence” observed at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. This moment corresponds to the hour, day and month in 1918 when the First World War ended.
This day of remembrance is an invitation to pay tribute to all those who have given their lives and those who continue to serve to safeguard our values.
It is also another way to raise our awareness of peacekeeping issues around the world.
“We will remember.”
