National Nursing Week

The theme of this year’s National Nursing Week is “The Power of Nurses to Transform Health”. It is also known in the industry as Caregivers Week.

This theme highlights the incredible contribution nurses make to championing patient-centred care, driving innovation and improving healthcare overall. Through their presence and desire to share and support new generations, all members of the nursing workforce are also helping to shape the future of nursing.

This week is a time for recognition and celebration. It highlights the dedication of nurses in all walks of life, at home and around the world.

This national week is held annually during the week of Florence Nightingale’s birthday, on May 12, 1820. This British nurse was a pioneer in modern nursing and the use of statistical data in health care. This week also marks Aboriginal Nurses Day on May 12.

Take advantage of this week to show your appreciation to all the nursing staff.
