Memorable experiences at Religious Heritage Days

The Marie Rose Centre) (MRC) is offering two separate free activities on September 8 and 9 as part of the Religious Heritage Days (Journées du patrimoine religieux).

Taking the form of an itinerary with stops inside and outside the former Longueuil convent, participants will be guided by a nun through an inspiring experience of internalization. This approach will enable you to see or revisit the many attractions of the heritage site of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary (SNJM) from a new perspective.

This experience is offered once a day, at 1 p.m., on Friday and Saturday to a limited group of people. Registration is required by calling 450 651-8104, ext. 0.

Open house between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

The second section will be open to visitors between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on both days (Friday and Saturday). Visitors can choose to take a longer pause at any of the site’s many points of interest. Guides will help them learn more about this unusual MRC museum space, from the chapel to the museum, including the cemetery and the Foundation House.

Participants can also visit the “Audacious Women, Agents of Changes” exhibition in the archive showroom.

This free public event is one of the last great opportunities to see this historic site in its current state. A number of items, including books and medals, will also be offered during the two days. Mark your calendars!
