Fair Trade Month

Fair Trade Month is now held in October. This change was made in 2023 to enable all Fair Trade organizations around the world to celebrate Fair Trade. World Fair Trade Day is still held on the second Saturday in May.

During the course of the month, you could organize a fair trade product tasting activity or a fair trade snack, for example. It’s a great way to highlight the positive spin-offs of fair trade for communities in the South, and to encourage members of your network to act in solidarity with small-scale producers.

The “We are Fairtraide” theme invites us to remember that we can make a difference through our choices at the grocery store, in the stores and when ordering online. These choices have a direct impact on the lives of thousands of people around the world, and on the health of our planet.

These daily gestures contribute to democratizing the economy, promoting the autonomy of small producers and women, fighting against certain forms of modern slavery, and promoting ecological ways of doing things.
